Breweries and Monasteries

Day 1: Arrival in Regensburg
Check-in at your hotel in Regensburg. Enjoy a typical dinner at one of the historic sausage restaurants. Accommodation at your hotel.

Day 2: Regensburg – Weltenburg Abbey – Nuremberg
In the morning meet your local guide for a walking tour of Regensburg during which you can see famous places of the historic centre (outside visits), such as its patrician tower houses, the cathedral, council house, the stone bridge and the Porta Praetoria. Before you continue to Nuremberg, enjoy a boat trip on the river Danube that takes you to the impressive Weltenburg Abbey where you will visit its baroque church. Then continue to Nuremberg for dinner and accommodation.

Day 3: Nuremberg – Bamberg
After breakfast visit the medieval town centre with its famous Kaiserburg castle, the Albrecht-Dürer-House, council house and its famous churches. Today’s highlight is a guided tour of the beer cellars in Nuremberg´s underground including a sample of delicious local beer. In the afternoon continue to Bamberg for dinner and accommodation.

Day 4: Bamberg and Coburg
After breakfast undertake a sightseeing tour of Bamberg with your local guide. You will see the historical buildings along the river Regnitz, the cathedral, council house and the old fishermen's quarter known as "Little Venice". There will, of course, be sampling of the typical smoked beer "Rauchbier". Thereafter, continue to Coburg, passing two magnificent monuments: the monastery of Banz and the church of Fourteen Saints. After a short visit arrive at Coburg, the former ducal capital. Your local guide will show you the most important sites during a walking tour. In the afternoon return to Bamberg and enjoy a lively evening during a "legendary" Bamberg beer tour with a local guide. Accommodation at your hotel in Bamberg or its surroundings.

Day 5: Departure after Breakfast
