Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Würzburg
After your arrival enjoy tonight’s dinner and accommodation in your hotel in the Würzburg area.

 

Day 2: Würzburg – Nuremberg – Munich
In the morning a local guide will take you on a city tour in Würzburg. The lively baroque city on the Main is rich in history and culture. The most outstanding places to see are the prince-bishop‘s residence (UNESCO World Heritage), St Kilian‘s Cathedral and the medieval bridge across the Main. In the afternoon you will continue your journey to Nuremberg which has become famous for its spicy roasted sausages and the tasty gingerbread that originate here. During your city tour you can see the medieval Holy-Spirit-Hospital, famous artist Albrecht Dürer‘s home as well as the city walls and guard towers of the city‘s medieval defence system. Then your coach will take you to Munich. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel in the Munich area.

 

Day 3: Munich
Munich is a city of art and culture where the Bavarian joy if living is most warmly
felt. During this morning‘s city tour you will see the most important buildings in Munich. In the afternoon you will have time for your own discoveries. How about a walk through the English Garden or a shopping stroll through Munich‘s countless shops and boutiques? Return to you hotel in the early evening. Dinner and accommodation.

 

Day 4: Munich – Salzburg
In the morning continue your journey to Salzburg. Your local guide will show you around during a city tour. There will certainly be a chance to try some of the exquisite Mozart toffees. Then check in at your hotel. Dinner and accommodation in the Salzburg area.

 

Day 5: Salzburg – Davos
After today‘s breakfast you will continue your tour and drive to Switzerland. Starting in Salzburg you will head for Davos via Innsbruck and Landeck. We recommend a lunch break and a walk in Landeck. Landeck lies amidst 3000 meters high mountain peaks towering high above you. Over the Flüela Pass you will arrive at Davos. Dinner and accommodation in your hotel.

 

Day 6: Davos – Schaffhausen/Rhine Falls – Black Forest
Today‘s jouney will take you past many Swiss landscape highlights to Zillis. Here you can see the famous St Martin‘s church with its unique romanesque painted ceiling. Then continue to the “Via Mala” gorge. This historic trade road from Italy to Central Europe ran through dangerous defiles. Shortly afterwards you will reach Chur, Switzerland‘s oldest city where your local guide will take you on a city tour. Continue along Lake Walen and Lake Zurich until you will reach Schaffhausen, the picturesque city on the famous Rhine Falls. The less fearful may even undertake a short cruise by boat. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel in the Black Forest region.

 

Day 7: Black Forest – Strasburg/Alsace
In the morning a local guide will take you on a city tour in Freiburg. You can see the gothic Cathedral “Unsere Liebe Frau” and the idyllic little squares and alleys which are characteristic of Freiburg. In continuation you will undertake an excursion through the Black Forest. In the afternoon you can visit the Black Forest open air museum with typical historic farm houses. Then continue to France. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel in the Strasburg/Alsace area.

 

Day 8: Strasburg – Heidelberg – Frankfurt
After today‘s breakfast you will undertake a city tour in Strasburg with your local guide. Your walk through the picturesque medieval alleys of the tanner‘s quarter “Petit France” makes the past come to life in front of your eyes. Afterwards you will have some time off for your own discoveries. In the afternoon your tour will continue to Germany‘s oldest university town Heidelberg. After your city tour through Heidelberg‘s historic centre you can visit Heidelberg Castle. Then continue to Frankfurt. Dinner and accommodation in the Frankfurt area.

 

Day 9: Frankfurt – Rhine Boat Trip – Cologne/Bonn/Düsseldorf
In the morning your local guide will take you on a city tour in Frankfurt. During your visit of Frankfurt‘s historic centre you will see the “Römerberg” square, where Frankfurt was founded during the 1st century BC by Roman soldiers. Today Frankfurt is Germany‘s business and banking capital with the largest airport on the European mainland. Then continue to the Rhine where you will embark on a boat trip and see romantic landscapes slide by. After disembarkation continue to the Cologne/Bonn/Düsseldorf area. Dinner and accommodation at your hotel.

 

Day 10: Cologne – Departure
Today your guide will take you around Cologne‘s historic centre. During your city tour you can see Roman foundations, the famous Cologne Cathedral, medieval romanesque churches and the Rhine embankment. Then start your homebound journey.
